The insurance saving is so minimal for me that I don't bother cancelling it.  I also ride throughout the winter if possible.  (Not sure if the Ramapo Motorcycle Club is doing the Crotona Midnight Run this January -- if so I would try to do that again.)

While my 96 750NH is in storage, I just put a windshield on it. Looks good can't wait to try it in warmer weather when the snow stops and green pastures return.

Got out riding today 63F in PA.
4k miles this season, not bad not great.

Might be last time, snow in the long range forcast.

4 Hour ride. Heated gear in the morning, then 72F at noon.
Wound her out to 8,500 RPM a few times on open road, keeping her clean.

Filled up the chain oiler (Scottoiler) and went for another 4 hour ride in a different direction (South).

Went through some canyons down to Jalama Beach


This morning it was in the 40's but warmed up to 70's by noon.

Installed new tapered head bearings, lubed cables, pulled  carbs again, (leaking at O-rings🙄)

Will be ready soon for this riding season!

Swapped the clocks over then took her for a spin and nailed it until the clutch slipped around 9k in 3rd n 4th

I put these rear sliders on last week because I have started doing parking lot drills (low speed U-turns, figure 8's etc.) I looked at a lot of potential solutions, settled on these because I could use the existing muffler bolt and they stick out far enough to actually save the exhaust pipe from scrapes.



Today went on a 4 hour ride through some canyons I haven't been on for a year. This is one known as "Rossi's Driveway" Hwy 229 off California Rt 58. I rode it up, then back down just like the guy in this article.

My clutch just started slipping for the first ride of the year.

After an order of $133 from Ron Ayers Honda, it's done!

Kept the metal discs, new everything else.  Metals weren't blue or anything, just glazed/shiny.
I sanded them down with 220 grit.

Worst, biggest job was getting the old gasket off!  Hours! Very tedious and frustrating!  The old one was black, new one is green on engine side, blue on cover side.

Hopefully changed for easier removal.

Friction discs soaked for 24 hrs. due to old gasket.

Rode it yesterday, clutch great again!

My Garmin Zumo XT is mounted to windshield with Ram ball.
Recently added turn signal indicators above the GPS so I can see the damn things.
The 91-2003 NH 750 had a single indicator, and due to it's filament creating an association for both left and right turn signals, you will get a 4-way flash if you replace signals with LED despite specialized flasher modules. This was the solution, separate LED indicators without filament.



Recently installed this cheap voltmeter USB thing. It has an off switch and works well.
I can see the volts go from 12.7 to 14 as soon as the engine starts.

New headlight bulb.  I know, not that big of a deal.

Should have done it as soon as I got the bike a year plus ago. I think it was the origional.  Smokey inside the bulb.

I bought Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs. Got 2 for $25.

Went from dull yellow to bright white light. I know they don't last long, Year plus.

Thought about LED, but still not perfected, plus I like keeping the whole bike stock looking.

Thought about high wattage bulbs, did that way back on my V65 Sabre. In time it tarnished the reflector and I had a dull headlight.  Had to buy a new one from Honda at over $100.

Honestly I wish I had done that instead of spending $150 for a single Truck-Lite 27270C 7" LED Headlamp

I thought it would just "bolt into" my existing shell but it didn't. So I bought an aftermarket shell from Dime City Cycles but there wasn't enough room inside for all my wiring and it's bezel-ring didn't fit either, so I ended up using my original shell and modified the ring. It was a pain in the ass.

But I am all about being seen, and one of the reasons I got that headlight is it maintains the low beam when you put on the high beam, which is my daytime method. Would I do it again?  No.

Took her for a spin today and finally dealt with the key which had broken off in my hard case lock sometime ago.
