Fuel tank treatment

I've got two tanks that need to de-rusted. One, from my 650, the other a 5 gallon "jerry" can.
On both I plan on using electrolysis. The story is, however, is that I've read that the tank may flash rust afterwards.
I've heard of a process that might help called "parkerizing"

Anyone know about this?

(yes, I know about gas tank coatings, they seem to get bad press)
