I'm a Nighthawk newbie.
I'm guessing some here have owned more than one of the 4-cyl bikes. A question,  I know my 85 650sc NH engine/transmission layout and design pretty well by now  (blame me getting into the 'nuts and bolts' on my mechanical engineer father)
I know the 85 engine/transmission has these features;

Alternator on top of the case back of the cylinders
No jackshaft
Hydraulic valves
Anti-lift front end.

The list goes on.
Could I take a 700 and convert it into a 750 for example?

Why? Effort vs reward.
I might consider something like that if the motor was trashed and had to be rebuilt anyway.

The 700cc Nighthawk S engine is the same as the 750cc Canadian Nighthawk S except for the crankshaft and rods.
However, power output for the two is essentially the same.  There's no practical reason to change over unless you have the parts and the engine is already apart.
