The 6mm drain plug outlet on the left fork is stripped. I tried re-tapping the fork, but it's too far gone.

I was thinking that I could tap the outlet for an 8mm plug.

Has anyone done this, and if so, how did it work out?

It's either this or take my chances on a used fork.

Seems like it would be worth trying before looking for a whole new fork.  You could also try sealing the current one in with JB Weld.  There's really no benefit to having them since you really should take the forks off to fully service them and drain them anyway.

Thank you. Yeah, I like the jb weld idea,  think I'll go that route while I look for a new fork.
