Unseasonably warm day today so I got to do some more painting. Engine and swingarm done. Now I can start reassembling. I'll take off the clutch cover and oil pan to paint properly during the spring oil change. And I'll get rid of the red silicone all over the bottom end.  I have nice stainless fasteners for all the engine covers. Also ordered a set of stainless hex cap screws to replace all the carb bowl and top plate screws as many of mine are stripped and some actually missing

Putting it back together. Looking really nice freshly painted frame, engine, and swingarm. Still need to do the clutch cover which is a big eyesore now.

Took apart the starter motor while I had it off the bike, cleaned out some carbon, the brushes look great so I put it back together and painted it and reinstalled it. New gasket for that little breather cover on the LHS across from the starter- no idea what that is but I had a gasket for it and the old one was torn. Why does it have/need a gasket if it's just open to the air anyways..?

Noticed a puddle of oil, actually this bike has never leaked before in the 2yrs I've had it so I was surprised.. Seems to be dripping from the gear change position sensor. I wonder why it just started leaking out of nowhere when it's been sitting without running for a couple weeks.

My airbox boot extenders did not work. They were too thick and pushed the box back more than I wanted and I couldn't bolt the battery box up so I abandoned them and will make do.

Airbox went on great, all new hoses for the breather/drain tank underneath. Everything is there under the covers/seat/tank, ignition coils, fender, etc. I forgot to put the wiring harness on before putting in the airbox so I ended up having to de-pin and re-pin some connectors to squeeze it through some spaces. That sucked, lesson learned there.

Rebuilt the right-hand controls, like I did for the left-hand back in august; complete dissasembly, opening up all the switches to bare contacts and springs, scrubbing all the old grease and corrosion off, regreasing (dielectric) and cleaning.

Started getting dark before I could hang the 'new' exhaust.

Im in the middle of refurbishing the headlight+cowl and the gauge cluster. Next time the oil is drained ill drop and paint the oil pan (and not replace the red silicone), clutch cover, and replace oil pressure sender.
