I'm happy to report that my NEW Garmin Zūmo 396 LMT-S GPS arrived direct from Garmin yesterday afternoon and I installed it today!

I'd been hoping to score a Zūmo since 2016, and came close a few times, but no dice. When they finally went on sale, for $100. off, I pulled the trigger pretty dang fast.

Here's a few pics of the basic, automotive Garmin GPS I'd rigged up, sometime back, which was "okay," but had heavily outdated maps (which couldn't be updated, due to damaged connector), was difficult to read in direct sunlight, and the power cord would sometimes vibrate loose:

In contrast, here's the water/shock/vibration proof, Garmin Zūmo 396 LMT-S, Motorcycle GPS, with Curvy Road feature and Adventure Routing, trip plotting, traffic alerts, etc:

Pretty stoked! Also reinstalled Deer Whistles (not pictured), as mine got knocked off, while in storage, over the winter.

Anyways, took her out today, using Adventure Routing, and it took me down some great roads I've never even been on, while hitting some spots I hit semi-regularly. Good stuff!

Slapped a few stickers on, to change things up a bit:

Then took her for a stroll:

Don't worry, they're removeable (for all those non-sticker/non-decal, purists). I just grew up in a (heavily stickered), Surf/Skate/Snow/Music culture, so it brings back some great memories. Now I can relive a few memories old adventures, while making new ones. [emoji41][emoji1690]

I'd like to sticker the side panniers with places I've ridden motorbike (New Zealand, Rarotonga, Guinea, Hawaii, St. Thomas, etc.), but these particular Givi's (E21's) seem to have some sort of semi-non-adhesive surface...so we'll see!

New 'Shoes'!

For the first time since owning her, I've just had a set of brand new, Michelin "Pilot Activ" tires put on my 1992 Honda CB750 Nighthawk.

In the PA Inspection process, her throttle cables were lubed and readjusted. (In fact, by lubing the return springs and butterfly/throttle shaft all the way across, the minor 'hiccup' she sometimes experienced at startup, seems to have been remedied, too).

Shortly before I got her, the previous owner had apparently put on a set of new Shinko tires I'd been running. (SR7121; 150-70-17M/C 69H, rear and 10 SR712F, 100/90-18M/C-56H, front).

As you can see, the rear tire had very little tread left on her, and wouldn't pass (registering less than a one).

Whereas, the front tire actually seemed to have great tread...

...however, when my mechanic (who I trust), took her out on a test run, with the adjusted throttle cables and new rear (Michelin) tire, the old front (Shinko) tire nearly gave him "[emoji3517]DEATH[emoji3517]WOBBLES[emoji3517]," for some odd reason...

So, we ended up swapping that out too.

Here's the new tread, in comparison...

Rear, 150/70-17 Michelin:

Front, 110-80-18 Michelin:

I only had a chance to take her out for a short jaunt tonight, but Honda Element's in for inspection, so looking forward to taking NH to work, tomorrow!

Interestingly, I believe he said they inflated front to around 50/51 psi, which is more than I believe the manufacturer calls for...but perhaps that's because he upgraded the size, too?

I actually encountered another Nighthawk today (left), for the first time while I was on my own (right).

Mine's a '92 with 53K on it, whereas their's is a '95 with 10K on it, (and there's is for sale, for $2,950.; DM me for details, if int.).

I was topping mine off with ethanol free gas, with front fairing and Zūmo removed, (so my bike mechanic could adjust the steering column, to address those speed wobbles, which did the trick), when I saw it.

Another great looking Nighthawk!

Scored a sweet deal locally on three, used Givi E460 Hard Cases for a mere $100. this evening. (MRSP's $227.-$320. USD, each + another MRSP of $33.-$47., for the top case optional backrest)! It's gonna be great to have the storage capacity equivalent of SIX helmets, for longer trips! [emoji1787]

(Better pics to follow, in the light of day).

Finally installed my NEP Cruise Control today!

Also replaced my broken clutch lever.

And while I was at it, swapped out this ("Bracket, Handle Lever;" Honda Part# 53172-KT7-751) too, as it's always seemed slightly bent, from PO.

Lastly, I put just a dab of grip glue on...since I'll eventually swap out the handlebars and replace the grips in the process.

Look'n fwd to testing her out!
