Full fairing vs no fairing, (naked)

When I was a teen, there was no such thing as a bike with a full fairing, except for road racing bikes, and I never saw one up close. Although I'm not against a bike with a fairing, I like to see the bike naked.
If you were going to buy a bike, and it was available (for the same price) with or without a fairing, which would you pick?

I have sold crotch-rockets because the riding position is so uncomfortable for longer distance.
I would pick a bike like yours, and put a National Cycle Street Shield EX on it.

All other things being equal, buy with; you can always take it off.

I'd take a Silver Wing with all its kit, or a CX650 Turbo, but I'm generally not really a fan of having everything enclosed since I work on my bikes and I like to be able to get to the important bits easily.

I remember the good old days of 70's muscle cars. No one would be caught dead with hubcaps, or whitewalls, or driving a 4 door car (even Corvettes were not labeled a Muscle car).

In the 70's you were not cool unless you rode a chopper and don't even think about putting a windshield on your bike or you were considered old and not cool!

Now, I am older and smarter and looking for a stylish windshield for my 96 750 NH. Go figure!
