I am new to NH's, but bought a 96 750. The chain is pretty dirty. I read here before some riders use PJ-1 blue label to lube the chain or Dupont chain saver as well.

Any suggestion of what is best to use to clean the chain prior to lubing it? Any input is appreciated.

Thanks team!

I use PJ-1 Blue to lube it, not to clean it.  Never actually had to clean a chain before.

When I was a teen, my family and I used a product called Drislide for chains. We rode in the desert in Calif, and the dirt there is like talcum powder. The advantage is it uses no oil, and doesn't collect dirt. See this link for more information.
Disclaimer: it may not work for chains that have o'rings.
