Fuses... Will any do?

Hey guys.

OK so part of sorting out my new Nighthawk I wanted to replace the fuses on the handlebars.

There are 3 x 15 amp and 3 x 10 amp fuses.

I bought these:

M6 x 30mm glass fuses.

My question is, are these ok to use on the Nighthawk? They are stamped with 250v which confused me. I wasn't sure if that meant they are good for 250v before they pop, or if it meant they are too much for the Nighthawk, or even if they are not for automotive application, so I just wanted to ask to make sure.

Fuses blow based on current, not voltage.  Those are fine.
Your bike also has a 40A "dogbone" fuse down by the starter solenoid.  It will sometimes develop hairline cracks that cause intermittent power to all systems on the bike.  Aftermarket fixes are available that use newer blade-style fuses though.

That's the maximum voltage the fuse is rated to safely interrupt. However, automotive fuses are usually rated at 32v, but have a thicker element except in the middle.

They are made to introduce less voltage drop, which is more detrimental at lower voltages, because of the higher current for a given power.
