Front brake pulse slow speed

92 750 Nighthawk 20k miles.

Since I got this bike last Oct. it has a subtle pulse in the front brake coming to a stop.

I don't feel it in the lever, just the bike pulsing just short of stopping.

It's so subtle, that if I use both front and rear brakes It's gone.

Anything faster then 10 mph it's gone. Brakes fine.

Keep in mind there is only 1 rotor on this bike. it's solid mounted, no buttons.

I power sanded the surface, new fluid, lubed the caliper sliders, and new EBC HH pads.  Still there.

My car does the same thing. The rotor's thickness varies slightly around its circumference.

So what's the fix?

Can also be a slight rotor warp.  Fix is a new rotor or have the current one machined.  Or just learn to ignore it.

Steady braking to try to wear down the thickest part. I minimized the pulsations from my Accord that way.

Bikemaster rotor (questionable quality)  $122, used rotor $$, etc.

Might try to ignore it.

Did find where switching to pads I now have it might wear the problem out with hard braking and time.

You might be able to get it turned, like they do on cars. Check with your local cycle shop. But, they will expect you to give them the thickness of the rotor. Do you have a micrometer?

I think new rotors barely meet specs, so they may not be turnable.

I had a car that did that, it turned out to be a bad tire. Otherwise, sounds like a warped rotor like the others said.

Fixed.  New EBC floating rotor from Amazon. $180 delivered.  Looks good on there.
