92 NH fuel Tee O-rings

This is on my 92 NH 750.  I got the 4 carb. rebuild kit, only used the new O-rings.

Kit has the o-rings for the 2 small fuel tubes but not for the fuel Tee in the middle. They need to be bigger or thicker.

This was an after market kit, have many o-rings left over but not the right ones for the Tee.

Are these included in the K&L kits?

Will I be able to get the right size at a hardware store?

Thanks!

Harbor Freight sells kits of mixed sizes that should have something that will work.  Pretty reasonable price too, as I recall.

I used 1.78mm x 7.65mm from The O-Ring Store, PN N1.78x007.65.

Thanks for the replies.

I picked up a metric O-ring kit at Auto Zone.  We have one 7 miles away.

Closest Harbor Freight is 30 miles away. We're a bit rural here, I like it that way.

1 question...What is the pressure of 5 gallons of gravity fed gas in PSI??

A fraction of a psi at most and the pressure will vary by the height of fluid (gasoline) in the tank.

It can still leak, despite low pressure.
When I work out of town for 6 months, every time I come back home my carbs would leak, but only the first few days. The first time this happened I pulled the carbs, changed the float needles (old ones looked fine - new ones in - still leaking gas). It was puzzling, because after about 3 days the leak "healed" and stopped.
this happened 4 years in a row, whenever I put gas back in the bike. Finally I realized it leaked where that tube connects the carbs. I have not pulled them apart yet, because I am back home without draining the carbs and it doesn't leak if they don't dry out.
My petcock started leaking this year, when I pulled it I discovered the o-ring at connection to tank was completely flattened. They sell aftermarket petcock on Amazon for about $25, came with o-ring, which completely stopped the leak. Fuel leaks are no joke...

My fuel tube O-rings were definitely the origionals.  Should be good for another 30 years.

You can get the full rubber rebuild kit for the petcock on Ebay.

I was surprised mine worked 100% correctly when I checked it.

You asked about fuel pressure, not about how much pressure can cause a leak..

The 'Hawk has a diaphragm which is supposed to stop fuel delivery unless the engine provides vacuum, regardless of the petcock position. That's why there is a hose from the petcock that goes to an intake port.

Anyone who has an engine off fuel leak on a 91-03 Nighthawk has a petcock problem, and if there is a bad hose or a problem with the carb floats, a fuel leak results.

Yep, it only leaked when started up (not 24-7).
