Painting?

So I'm planning on doing a bit of painting to my bike/spare parts plastics and tank.  Possibly a secondary color on the forks/shocks and other misc. parts.  Maybe if all goes well even attempt a pattern or speed stripes on/across the tank and tail fairing.  Who knows.  So my main question is.  Where do I buy quality paint I can use in a spray gun? I've got some Harbor Freight spray guns, their nicer guns I bought in a bundle off Ebay.  I've been watching automotive painting Utube channels and I have worked in the cabinet industry for over 20 years and have some decent experience spraying lacquer and conversion varnish.  So far I don't see anybody listing or talking about WHERE to buy the primer, paint and clear coat.  Are these things bought at AutoZone?  Advance Auto Parts?  Where do the auto body shops buy their paint?  I can only imagine I don't want to buy from a typical auto store but......who's got the goods?  Thanks in advance!

Do you have a paint store near you?  Most of the major paint manufacturers have retail stores.
Or perhaps you could ask at an auto body shop.  You're only going to be using a small amount so maybe they would let you buy a couple of pots from them.

There are a few auto parts stores that have another department that deals strictly with automotive paint and supplies. Buy regular color or they often mix the color or match the color you want. Good luck!

I buy my paint from an automotive paint supply store, there are several in my area. Most of the people working there have automotive painting experience and can make recommendations, match paint, etc. Normally you'd buy a "paint system" meaning sealer, primer, paint, reducer, activator that are all compatible with each other.

"Automotive Paint Supply Store"  That's what I'm asking about.  Who are they?  Who can I google?  Surely its not Autozone and Advance Auto parts.  I do searches and come up with those auto parts stores.  I can't seem to find an automotive paint supplier.  Hendersonville, NC.

Why not ask an auto body shop where they get their paint from (as I suggested earlier)?

Never tried to paint my own, but I've been aware of them for a while.
