I have read in numerous places that the proper oil qty. for the front forks of my '85 CB700SC is 14.25 oz or thereabouts of ATF. Put exactly that in one fork and it sure as hell seems overfull. Can someone verify for me via a service manual what the proper qty. is? I know the ATAC side takes a bit more, but 14.25/14.50 seems wayyy too much. Thanks

As I recall, that's the amount that I put in one fork and then filled the other to match the height to the top of the tube.  423cc (14.3 fl.oz.) is what the Honda Service Manual specifies for the non-TRAC leg.
Remember that you need to have the tubes fully extended when you put in the ATF.
