Hello everyone, I hope you are all enjoying your Nighthawks! I had something weird happen last week when I left my bike outside. It seems like some tiny spots of pollen or tree sap or something got all over the bike...they are tiny clear little spots that wipe off pretty easily, and are almost like see-through. Pretty weird, but i cleaned them all off except for the exhaust. Now, on my exhaust they seemed to almost "cook" on there and turn black, and both my nice chrome exhausts are covered in these weird little black dots. Im not too concerned because they are barely visible, but still Id like to clean them off. So far ive tried wd40, oven cleaner, simple green, chrome polish, warming the bike up and seeing if I can scrape them off etc all to no avail. Is there anything you all might reccomend, that wont damage the chrome plating? Thanks in advance!!!

Metal polish, or if that doesn't work/too slow, 0000 steel wool with the metal polish.

This will also work for right out of the head for the heat bluing.

I have heard that wadded-up aluminum foil makes a good scrubber with chrome polish.

Thanks guys! I put a liberal amount of oven cleaner on both exhausts, wiped it off then followed up with chrome  polish and steel wool, then more chrome polish and simple green (lol) and finally got it all off! Thanks again! Now the bike is fully gone through, all tuned up and running great. Except when I went back to my shed I noticed one of my fork seals leaking, so now Ill have to address that  :o
