Found weird wiring- anyone identifies?

After a long search finally bought my nighthawk 83' 650 but the dude wasn't honest about a lot of things...
So I got to fixing.
Found this near the battery, seems to not be connected to anything, anyone recognizes what this is for?

Yes. That's an SAE connector, used to connect a charger to charge the battery, or to an electrical accessory like a USB port or heated gloves, etc.

There is no reason to remove it.

Except that the ring connector is supposed to be on the positive terminal of the battery.  Right now the SAE connector is useless because the wires aren't going anywhere.
A lot of people add those though.  Makes connecting a battery charger much easier.
