I currently am looking to repaint the engine block on my 82 CB650SC Nighthawk and I am having trouble picking out paint. I am looking for a semi gloss, high temperature black satin paint. I am seeing what I am looking for with a maximum temperature of about 550 degrees. I don't know if the engine block temperature will exceed this or not (I would assume it does). Does anyone have any recommendations of what I could use for repainting my engine block that fits these parameters?

Have you considered a no bake DIY ceramic paint?

I did not consider that, I will look into it. Any brands you recommend?

I personally have not used such a product. I'm also not sure if it's available in colour. I know you can get what is basically a ceramic clear coat though so I'm making some assumptions here. You could also look for engine specific enamel paints. I do believe some will have ceramic resins as part of their make up. Hope this will open up some more internet rabbit holes for you. :)

550 should be plenty.
Do you have an HVLP or LVLP gun?  If not VHT has some rattle can that goes up to 1100 is you're really concerned.  There's a cure process involved though, not just spray and be done.

If you're ok using rattle cans, I use PJ1 paint.  You can get it in gloss black or satin black.  It's an epoxy paint with a high temp.  (over 500 degrees).  I use it a lot and used on the engine of my Triumph restoration.  If your local MC dealer doesn't stock it, Dennis Kirk (mail order) has it.  It's about $17 a can.  Good stuff!
