Currently have the top end removed doing a rebuild. Going well, everything looks good. I was burning some oil, so decided to dig in and replace the
Ring, valve seals, etc. now that I am this far, it won't be much work to split the case. My rebuild kit has all the gaskets and orings for the full motor anyway. The bike has 55k miles on it. Is there anything I should do as a preventative measure since I'm this far? Replace the alternator chain, tensioner, cam chain? Just trying to think ahead to avoid an issue after it's all back together.

The alternator chain could be a candidate for replacement with the chain from the 91-03 CB750.  It's much stronger.
I would also take the opportunity to inspect and potentially replace the shift forks, as they tend to be fragile and easily damaged.
Inspect the chain tensioners, but last time I checked replacements were not available.

Definitely upgrade to the 91-03 alternator/starter chain.

Feel for any slop in the rod bearings.

Other then that I'm no expert on them.  Had an 83 650 NH from new back in the day.

Thanks, I will grab that starter chain from the 750. Good to know. Does anyone know what the PN for the cam chain would be? Is there a later model that will fit if I can't find the one for the 84? Thanks!

You can find part numbers on any Honda parts supplier's schematics.  They all use the same source system.
I've never seen anybody talk about a different cam chain though.  Probably have to get an OEM one -- if they're still available.
