Anyone done aftermarket cans?

So last night I went into the garage in the dark with a small torch and I removed both the mufflers or cans as we say here in the UK.

I then fired her up outside in the dark and she made a sound I can only describe as if it came from the pit of hell itself.

BOOOM... bombombombombomb.... very loud lol.

So today I took her for a spin to fill her up full of 99 RON unleaded and man it was a nice ride.

It's loud, but no louder than a Harley, I love the pops and bangs as you down shift, however there is a noticeable loss of low end power, midrange seemed to be there, but I am sure this could be cured with the correct jetting.

I just wondered if anyone out there has tried aftermarket cans on there bike and how did they find it?

There used to be several options.  Very few these days.  Some kind of slip-on could probably be made to fit pretty easily.
I do a decent amount of distance riding.  For the sake of aural fatigue, I want my bikes as quiet as possible.

I'm going to have to do a before and after because it sounded sooooo good with the mufflers off the bike.

It will need jetting attention to the bottom end, midrange and top seemed to be fine.

This is what I was thinking of and spraying them black:

I do actually like the look of the original chrome exhaust, but it's just so quiet and I want to put my stamp on the bike.

I've never seen this done before on a NH.

Totally not suitable for any distance work but for just blatting around, coffee shops and a nice intoxicating Sunday ride etc I think it would be nice to have.

That chrome exhaust isn't original.  The original is black.

Oh that's interesting. You'd think that aftermarket would sound good. Mines like a quiet sewing machine.

I have just ordered the mini slip on things, £61.88 all in, should have them in around 10 days. I'll drop a video in here so you can see the install and hear what she sounds like.
