Take two wheels, same size, same width. One is spoked, the other mag. Which is stronger? Heavier?
Mag wheels seem to be very common now. fashion, cost, or better?

Spoked are usually stronger, but almost all types require tubes.  They can be repaired and adjusted more easily in the field which is why they're used on adventure bikes.  They're also more expensive to manufacture and work on which is one of the reasons why various types of types of alloy wheel are more common.

Spoked wheels need maintenance, mags don't.
Spoked are a relative PITA IMHO - From both the maintenance and cleaning perspective.
Looks wise - Eye of the beholder.
In my case, I'd rather ride than look at the wheels... :D

I had a Super Tenere that had spoked and tubeless wheels, they were a little hard to keep clean, but in the 5 years I had the bike, I only had to tighten a couple, which seems lucky.
