Fork Tubes Rechrome

Just wanted to share my experience hopefully it'll help someone. So, during the restoration of one of my bikes I wanted to have the fork tubes rechromed, they were pitted some but not terrible and were not leaking. So I had this shop that I previously used to de-chrome some wheels and they seemed okay as far as quality and price. I took the forks to them and they really screwed them up, they polished the pit areas locally which made the tubes uneven. I noticed as soon as I picked them up but they refused to rework them, obviously that was a little too much for them. Tubes are tight tolerance items.
And of course no new seals helped, the forks keep leaking any ride I take with that bike. Price was very steep too, found brand new tubes after that from Racetech at same price. Live and learn...

I had great success with my tubes using the super glue method.
