Hey everyone :) I noticed an oil leak on my '93 CB750 coming from the gasket labeled (8) in the diagram below, and I saw that the gasket itself was dry, cracked, and almost hanging from the bottom of the cover;
I have been trying to remove the countershaft bearing cover (7) after removing all retaining bolts, but it seems to be stuck in place by the part which goes through (11) and (12) (I believe the countershaft). Do I need to remove the countershaft seals to remove the cover? Is there another way I should be approaching this?

Thanks guys, I'm pretty new to working on my bike, I have more experience doing engine works on cars, and I haven't found much pertinent information online.

Do you have a shop manual? Did you remove all ten bolts? Could it just be gasket sealant?

I wanted to make it easier to look at.

How much oil is leaking?
I had a small oil leak from my valve cover gasket. Some of the late model 750's never leak there - but there are MANY accounts of valve cover gaskets leaking and mine was one of them.
I spent a fair amount on OEM gaskets, meticulously cleaned everything with acetone, used HondaBond, tightened everything per spec and it "seemed" OK for a couple thousand miles but now leaks worse and from more places around the valve cover than it ever did before.
For "me" it would be futile to buy all new gaskets again and redo it.

The moral of the story - if it is a very minor leak, just wipe it off when you do your chain or whatever and ride the thing.
