Hi all,
Reinstalling my carbs and I had removed the air box boots to make it easier to get the carbs out (before I realized you could slide the entire air box backward). Not sure what this metal clip is meant to interface with, should I have it flipped forward or left like the photo when installed, should I change the orientation after installation, etc. can't find a reference in my manual. https://imgur.com/a/sAbUdqq

Thanks!

I have never seen that before, but I have a '96 750.

I wonder if someone added that to pull it back in.

Yeah, I haven't seen it either.  I was wondering the same thing as Larry.

Interesting. Not a bad idea using it as a handle to pull it back into the air box I might have to try that!

Never seen that before, but I also have a newer 750 Nighthawk, (92)

When I had an 83 in 84-87, I never had it apart.

my 83 650sc has those, they are meant to hold the fitting in place.
