Did all the 83-85's have it?
If yours does, kindly look for a Showa label on the left fork leg, if it's there does it say ME5782?
Why I'm asking is I am attempting to get mine working. I bought parts, and now that I've got the fork leg off, the parts don't seem to be for my left fork leg. Got both the factory and Clymer manuals, they both seem to show the same mechanism,  but not mine.
I'm the 6th owner, so I'm wondering if someone in the past replaced the original with a leg from another bike.
I am a very stubborn mechanic, (not a professional) that doesn't give up easily. However, I might have met my match.

I don't know about the CB650 specifically, but TRAC doesn't seem to have ever been an option -- it was always installed on every bike for the other models that I know of.  Seems likely that you have a swapped fork.
