So had a charging issue, just got the bike fully charged battery up night before, hooked it up and the green rectifier wire started smoking, after I cut that wire out the start button doesn't work. I can assume it's all connected and my wire harness was the issue,

New parts
Stator
Rectifier
Alternator
Coil packs
We're all new and redone only thing hasn't is the harness.

Other issue is it hard to reinstall I have a new one and new rectifier coming but would the harness being bad cause the thick green wire to burn all the way up the harness.

Thank you

Sounds like something was shorting somewhere if it started to smoke like that.  Solid green is usually a ground wire on Hondas, so maybe your grand wire from the battery wasn't properly connected and all the current was going through the one you cut.

Yes, solid green is ground. Several circuits can share one ground wire.
