Love the one your with.
The devil on my shoulder tempts me as well, but when I see Law Enforcement tucked into a hiding spot and I am only going 10 over the speed limit, I am grateful to have sold my fast bikes.

Also the ergos on the Nighthawk fit me perfectly. So I remind myself to enjoy the ride, and stay present.

Passed a Trooper Yesterday sitting along road in a parking lot. No speed trap, just sitting. I was at least 10 over, didn't care.

Wish I could get that last 20 HP and torque out of this one.🤣

I had an extremely well set up Yamaha FZ-1 a few years ago. It was way too easy to speed on. I was both surprised with, and proud of, myself for selling it. I was content with the '83 GS1100E I'd had for almost 10 yrs. It was fast but not as quick to get up to crazy, but very "entertaining", speeds. :)
Last Winter, I decided that the 1100 was a heavier and more top heavy bike than what I really wanted and sold it. I then thought long and hard about what bike might fill all my needs. based upon my experience, I decided to look for a really nice 700S. I found one last month and purchased it. I'm now in the process of improving it's all around performance with the goal of increasing my overall satisfaction with it.
The End

In the past I went from 83 650 NH, to 85 V65 Sabre, to a Blackbird, to an ST1300, to a FJ-09, now back to a 750 Nighthawk.

that's 230k miles on liter class bikes.

Im just looking for a little more power.  On level ground its fine, but climbing hills here it's a bit lacking.

That extra 20 HP and torque is what I need. Just trying to wrap my head around the negatives.

Tires are really bad.  I used to get 180/55-17 rear tires for $100 delivered.  Part of that is Covid supply issues, although I'm still waiting for prices to drop. Probably won't.

More pondering...

I still haven't done it. Despite CB1100's all around me starting at $5k.

Ive got more power out of my 92, causing my clutch to slip this spring.  New clutch, no more slip, making good power from 2k rpm all the way to rev limiter.

Did steering head bearings over this past winter also.

Will hopefully continue to resist temptation.

Yeah, that was also my experience after following your recommendation to re-jet while cleaning my carbs last year.

I am about to set off on an early morning Sunday ride with no traffic up north in the canyons and lakes.

I have had faster bikes in the past, but today I have confidence that I am not going to be hauling ass TOO FAST into a corner, or a deer.
I am running great tires (expensive, Dunlop Mutants) and have confidence in them (2nd set).
