Shorter shocks for a 96 750 NH

Hello all,

Has anyone found or know of decent and affordable shocks for the 750 NH that are shorter than the stock ones? I am trying to lower the bike so that I can feel more comfortable, confident and more flat footed. I have already dropped the front tubes 3/4 inch through the triple trees. Thanks in advance for any replies! Not ready to cut the seat down yet, but that may be an option. Safe riding to all!

I don't know of shorter shocks, the stock ones are 13". A popular mod for Sportsters is 12" but they have different mounts and won't fit your bike.

when I am on a tall motorcycle I wear Chippewa Logger boots with about 2" heel. Got a mint pair on Ebay in my size, they were a bit loose, put height increasing insoles from Amazon. Gives you a lot more confidence.

If you haven't already, you may want to reduce the preload on rear shocks as that will also lower the bike with your weight on it.

I put RFY reservoir shocks on my 700S.  Tons of them on eBay, in many different lengths.  For cheap things they're surprisingly good.  I'm sure you could find something with the eyelet diameter and mount width that you need in a length that's more comfortable for you.

Bob, funny you mentioned the shocks, I just turned the spring pressure down today. I will check into the logger boots. Thanks for the reply!
