CB700SC - Top Speed?

Hey guys.

I am curious as to what top speed you have had outta your CB700's?

I have seen articles online which say it does 120, then another one which says it does 147?

I have had 1 ride on mine and wound her up to 100 but it didn't feel like a true 100 and the speedo was wobbling lol.

A friend of mine has an old skool FZ600 on a 1989 F registration. I was wondering if the Nighthawk will be able to hold it's own against an early FZ scratcher.

As soon as mine's on the road I will do a through road test and bang it on Youtube. I'll take each gear to the limiter so we know it's terminal speed in each gear, then another run where I change at more optimum revs rather than hang each gear out and we can see what she'll do. But until then I am curious.

Also while I am here, does anyone know what the difference is between CB700 S and CB700SC ? What does the S and SC mean or are they all just S?

I use a GPS which is more accurate than any speedo.

All Nighthawks are SCs, which stands for Sport Custom.

The 700S (and 750S in Can.) is a CB700SC Nighthawk S.

My 92 750 with a 110/90-18 front tire is perfect to my GPS at 65 mph.So with the oem size front tire it reads high.

I've gone to around 115mph on my 700S.  Speedo is pretty accurate.  It still had more to give, but it wouldn't have gone over 125 at the most.
Also, it was terrifying.

I intend to bounce mine off the limiter in top, with video of course. That's before and after I fit my factory pro kit and filters to see what difference it makes.
