Preferred Cable Lubricant?

I recently read WD-40's not great for lubricating throttle cables and what not and that oils better.

That said, what brand and type cable lubricant do you recommend for Nighthawks / motorcycles?

You can get silicone sprays that are much more persistent than WD-40 (which isn't great -- that bit is true).
Getting a spray into the tube can be tricky though.

I used Liquid Wrench Chain and Cable lube, initially bought for the chain lube. I also improvised my "ad-hoc" lubricators, they worked fine.
