86 CB700S starter chain

I've heard of the mod, that's about it. 

I'm geussing since the 700 is so peaky, the timing is retarded for more low end power.

1 tooth is A LOT.  I'd slot the cam sprockets and set it up with a degree wheel at 104* lobe centers IF you want to pursue this.

I used the 3-lobe style of hone.  Seemed to work just fine.

From memory, one tooth on the cam sprockets is about 8.5° (42 teeth).  Stock timing opens the intake 18° BTDC and closes the exhaust 20°ATDC.  The article's author says that he adjusted his timing by about 15° for both intake and exhaust, so one tooth doesn't seem excessive.

After a bit of reading, I'm going to leave well enough alone and trust in Honda's engineers of the 80's ;) It's been so enjoyable disassembling and inspecting this engine. There's just something about inline fours that get me! This also gives this welder dude an excuse to increase the precision measuring device inventory.
