Greetings fellow Nighthawk enthusiasts. I joined the forum in anticipation of taking delivery of an '85 Red/black 700S next week. I don't mind admitting that I've leaned towards Suzuki GS's over the years, having owned at least one of every model from the 650 to the 1150. However, the 700S is the only bike that I've regretted selling so much that I bought a replacement for. The 1st one was back in the late 80's when I lived in SoCal. It's been over 15 yrs since I sold my last one but I kept the service manual, knowing that someday I'd buy another one. This one will be my 7th. I expect this to be my last bike purchase and I can't think of a nicer bike to end up with. Pics to follow.

So you had 6 of the NH 700s before this one? Wow - amazing.

Welcome!  I started with an 83 650 NH brand new.  After a few liter class bikes and many years, I'm back to a 92 750 NH since last Oct.

Well, I drove 4 1/2 hrs each way yesterday to pick up my "new" bike. Thankfully, it was in nicer condition than the pics without a scratch to be found. The tank and decals look perfect and, surprisingly, the mufflers haven't been scratched either. Now, the fun of going over it from top to bottom and front to rear begins.

That's amazing. Did you get a look inside the tank? Corrosion?
Sounds like it was in a time capsule.

Inside of the tank looks as new and the only corrosion is a very slight amount of pitting on the chrome of the gas cap which I found odd. Not even any marks on the rims from tire mounting. Speaking of tires, they're Bridgestone Battlaxes and look practically new. Seller also mentioned that the starter was replaced recently. The only non-stock items on the bike are the turn signals and grips. Truly amazing condition.

Be sure to check the date codes on the tires. Look for four digits after the DOT. First two = week, second two = year.

The same thought crossed my mind when I picked it up. They're 3 yrs old. ;)
